<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device capable of preventing an internal battery from being consumed excessively with communicating action and of preventing communication with an external device from being shut off as the internal battery runs out of power. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic device is capable of communicating with a personal computer 10 in either of communication modes, an HS mode with high communication speed or an FS mode with slow communication speed, and receives driving power from an AC power supply 13 or its internal battery.
