PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-purpose movable floor apparatus which can easily change a floor surface of a sports room such as a gymnasium into a floor surface formed of a different material. SOLUTION: A plurality of rails 4 are laid parallelly in the sports room 1 having a storage room 3 arranged at one longitudinal end of a laid room 2. The rail in the laid room has a wide width, and its upper central portion is formed as a first traveling surface 4a and upper side portions as second horizontal traveling surfaces 4b, and only the first traveling surface is extended into the housing room 3. Then a number of floor units 11 have driving carriages 13 for traveling on the first traveling surface 4a at longitudinal central locations on both sides thereof via a hinge 12 and rollers 14 at front and rear locations on both the sides. Herein both the front and rear surfaces of the floor unit are formed of different first and second skins. When the floor units are housed in the housing room 3, they assume a vertical or inclined position, whereas when they are paid out to the laid room 2, the rollers 14 ride on the second horizontal traveling surfaces 4b to set the floor unit in a horizontal position.
