PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multisignal labeling reagent which is useful in a number of biochemical applications including fabrication of a biomolecular probe and use for detection or amplification of analyte-specific moieties. SOLUTION: A composition comprises an oligomer or polymer comprising (a) two or more labeled moieties wherein the label or labels are chemically linked to the oligomer or polymer, (b) one or more reactive groups, and (c) one or more charged groups, wherein the charged groups (i) are covalently linked to the oligomer or polymer, or (ii) comprise part of the main chain of the oligomer or polymer, or (iii) comprise any combination of the foregoing.
