PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mouthpiece with which the oral cavity of a subject to be observed can be precisely observed. SOLUTION: The mouthpiece 20 is used for the oral cavity image pickup apparatus to pick up image of the oral cavity of the subject to be observed intercepting the outside light, wherein a mouthpiece contacting section 20b which places a shading frame 15 of the oral cavity image pickup apparatus during a photographing time and a mouthpiece biting section 20a which the subject to be observed bites between the teeth of the upper jaw and the lower jaw so that positioning of the mouthpiece 20 in the vicinity of the teeth of the subject to be observed can be performed are equipped.
