PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate trouble such as the defective sewing or thread cutting caused by the excessive tension when a needle thread loosened or jumped up by the operation of a balance, a needle, etc. is caught at an end of a thread guide fixed to the front of a sewing machine arm and the thread is inserted into a gap formed by the sewing machine arm and the thread guide. SOLUTION: The thread guide has an abutting body abutting to an end of the thread guide for closing the gap between the front surface of the sewing machine arm and the thread guide.
