PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game system capable of imparting various privileges to a player without rewriting the internal information of a game machine. SOLUTION: The game system is provided with the game machine 1 and a portable telephone set 7 having a CCD camera 5 for reading a two-dimensional code 4 displayed at an image display device 3 provided on the game machine 1. In the game machine 1, pieces of coupon imparting information A, B and C are non-rewritably stored in a ROM 155. In the portable telephone set 7, in a RAM 227, for instance, the coupon imparting information / coupon table of January and February are rewritably stored. The tables are downloaded from the server 9 of a game machine maker or the server 11 of a coupon providing maker through a communication network, the Internet for instance, to the portable telephone set 7 so as to be updated.
