PURPOSE: Provided is a vertical calcining furnace, which has an inlet and outlet disposed vertically on the same line to reduce the costs, to facilitate the flow of a charge, and to improve the efficiency and product quality. CONSTITUTION: The vertical calcining furnace comprises an inlet at the top thereof, an outlet at the bottom thereof, and a main body having a rectangular section and performing the calcination of a product. The main body(10) comprises: a first combustion chamber(13a) having a first inclined surface(15), in which the front side of the bottom of the inlet(11) is tilted inwardly, and two burner holes(14a); a second combustion chamber(13b) having a second inclined surface(16), in which the bottom of the first combustion chamber(13a) is tilted inwardly, and two burner holes(14b); a third combustion chamber(13c) having a third inclined surface(17), in which the bottom of the second combustion chamber(13b) is tilted inwardly, and two burner holes(14c), one for each side; a fourth combustion chamber(13d) having a fourth inclined surface(18), in which the bottom of the third combustion chamber(13c) is tilted inwardly, and two burner holes(14d), one for each side; an outlet(12) disposed at the bottom of the fourth combustion chamber(13d) on the same vertical line as the inlet(11); and a collection port(19) having a hole(19a) for collecting combustion air disposed between the outlet(12) and the fourth inclined surface(18).
