<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means distinguishing between keyboard input operation and pen input operation with a simple structure and automatically changing over a display direction of a display screen, and to provide a portable information terminal having excellent impact resistance, drip-proof properties, dust-proof properties and power-saving properties. <P>SOLUTION: A display part 2 has a two-axis rotary shaft rotating in an arrow (a) direction and in an arrow b direction. A free end of the display part 2 is provided with a magnet 11, while a main body part 2 is provided with a magnetic sensor 10 and a display processing part rotating a screen by 180 degrees. Because the magnetic sensor 10 and the magnet 11 are positioned apart from each other as shown in Figure, a screen in a normal direction is displayed. When closing the display part 2 in the (a) direction after rotating the display part 2 in the arrow b direction by 180 degrees, it comes into a state allowing tablet input. Because the magnetic sensor 10 and the magnet 11 faces each other in the position, the display processing part 9 rotates the direction of the display screen by 180 degrees by a signal from the magnetic sensor 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
