摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To electrically perform fault detection of light emitting diodes (LEDs) of a large-sized display. <P>SOLUTION: The display device has a plurality of LEDs D1 to Dk which are arranged in prescribed arrays with respect to an image display surface, voltage detecting sections (2 to 5) which make specified currents I1 to Ik flow in an off region below a forward voltage (Vf) to the plurality of the LEDs D1 to Dk and detect the inter-terminal voltages V1 to Vk of the LEDs appearing when the specified currents are passed and a fault detecting section 7 which electrically detects a fault from the plurality of the LEDs D1 to Dk based on the detection results Out1 to Outk of the voltage detecting section.
