PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the effect of thickening of ink having poor first ejection characteristics on the image quality. SOLUTION: Prior to line printing, N-th ejecting position of each head is calculated from image data and switching is made between bidirectional printing and unidirectional printing based on the positional information. Prior to line printing, N-th ejecting position of each head is calculated from the image data and image data being printed in the going direction and image data being printed in the returning direction are operated based on the positional information.
