PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a risk of clogging of an inert gas supply nozzle tip by molten metal, by preventing the molten metal from directly hitting a surface of the inert gas supply nozzle tip through a modification of the surface direction of the inert gas supply nozzle tip toward an exhaust hole, because the previous inert gas supply means is apt to cause insufficient supply of the inert gas into the molten metal and has a risk of clogging by the molten metal. SOLUTION: In an example shown in Fig. (b), the nozzle tip surface 36 is arranged upward with respect to a bottom face 35 of a molten metal passage 34 and toward the molten metal exhaust hole 32. The molten metal flows as shown by the arrow (5), and even if a portion of the molten metal flows upward as shown by the arrow (6), it does not invade into the tip of the inert gas supply nozzle 33 due to the tilting of the nozzle tip surface 36. As a result, the inert gas supply to the molten metal is assured reliably for long period of time. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
