PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compatible memory controller used together with a memory device having a different timing property. SOLUTION: The compatible memory controller comprises a controller (38) which reads out information of properties from one or more memory devices, a profile storing means (106) which stores therein values corresponding to the one or more memory devices, and a timing calculating means (108) which calculates timing values with respect to the memory devices as functions of the values stored in the profile storing means (106).
