PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoplastic polyester resin composition having good mechanical properties and heat resistance and excellent flame retardance without requiring the use of an antimony compound. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic polyester resin composition has the good mechanical properties and heat resistance and excellent flame retardance without requiring the use of the antimony compound. The resin composition comprises 100 pts. mass of polyethylene terephthalate resin, 0.1-50 pts. mass of a phosphate glass, 1-50 pts. mass of a flame retardant containing a halogen atom, 1-50 pts. mass of a phosphorus flame retardant other than the phosphate glass, 1-50 pts. mass of a nitrogen-containing flame retardant and 0.05-2 pts. mass of a dropping preventing agent.
