PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transparent gel-like detergent composition having readily usable hardness, excellent in low-temperature stability and a foaming property and hardly having an irritating property. SOLUTION: This transparent gel-like detergent is obtained by formulating (A) 20-55 wt.% compound obtained by neutralizing one or more kinds of amide dibasic acid type surfactants selected from compounds represented by formula (1) [wherein R<SB>1</SB>is an alkyl group or an alkenyl group having 7-21 average carbon atom numbers; (m) and (n) are mutually independently an integer of 1-3 and m+n<4] with at least one kind of cationic substance selected from an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal, ammonia, organic amines and basic amino acids contained in an amount of 1.5-2.0 equivalent based on the surfactant, with (B) 5-45 wt.% polyhydric alcohol and (C) water.
