PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material cleaning device capable of preventing a thin sheet material to be cleaned from being caught in a cleaning roller, and demonstrating the efficient cleaning operation. SOLUTION: In the sheet material cleaning device, each large diameter part e of cleaning rollers 1a-4a is inserted in each small diameter part g of adjacent cleaning rollers, and horizontally faces each other in a non-contact state. A second cleaning roller group of the same configuration as this first cleaning roller group A is disposed above the roller group A, a sheet material to be cleaned is held between the first and second roller groups and carried, and subjected to the cleaning operation. Even when the sheet material to be cleaned is thin, the large diameter parts of each roller group are constituted alternately, thus effectively preventing the sheet material from being entangled around the roller.
