PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pot type burner facilitating the attachment and detachment of a combustion assisting device. SOLUTION: This pot type burner is provided with a large number of primary air holes 1a and secondary air holes 1b in a lower peripheral wall and an upper peripheral wall of a burner 1 of bottomed cylinder shape. A border between the primary and secondary air holes 1a, 1b is provided with a plurality of pins 7 projected from the peripheral wall of the burner 1 into the burner 1. A disk like red heat body 5 is located at the upper part in the burner 1. A combustion ring 4 is mounted to be engaged with the pins 7 below the red heat body 5, and the combustion ring 4 and the red heat body 5 are integrally connected through legs 6 to constitute the combustion assisting device 8. The lower face of the combustion ring 4 is mounted with a plurality of locking claws 4a engaged with the pins 7 projected into the burner 1. The locking claws 4a are mounted in such positions that the locking claws 4a are fitted one by one to the pins 7 without all being simultaneously fitted when the combustion ring 4 is rotated and moved in a horizontal direction, and the locking claws 4a are provided at the combustion ring 4 being shifted from the positions of the pins 7.
