The safe or vault comprises a body formed by walls (14) and a door (12). A large size break-in sensor (16) is built into a wall and/or door. The electrically operated sensor transmits a signal when it is damaged due to heat expansion, e.g. by use of the welding equipment, or due to breaking by drilling. The sensor, in shape of a meander, is formed of wire, which melts at 80 deg C. An independent claim is also included for the break-in sensor.
