The motor vehicle door lock has a fast drive arrangement (9-12) that rapidly unlocks a locking element (3). The fast drive operates on the locking element using a fluid released by a rapid unlocking valve (11), which is operated by an opening signal for the locking element. The rapid unlocking valve is connected between a fluid storage device (14) and the locking element.
