The invention relates to a device for reducing harmful components in the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, especially a diesel-internal combustion engine, with an exhaust pipe. An oxidation catalyst and subsequently a particle filter for filtering particles contained in the exhaust gas are successively arranged in the direction of flow of the exhaust pipe. An NOx-storage catalyst (4) is arranged in the exhaust pipe and in the direction of flow behind the oxidation catalyst in order to reduce the NOx-toxic constituents.
