Device for measuring and controlling the position of a lifting platform

The measurement device comprises a number of path markers (2) on the moving object itself, e.g. the piston rod (1) of a hydraulic cylinder and a sensor (3a, 3b) for detecting at least one marking (2') or one space (5') between markers. An evaluation unit is used to count the number of markers and based on the current count the position of the piston rod and hence, based on a geometrical link, the height of the ramp itself. The invention also relates to a control device for controlling the position of a hydraulic cylinder using an inventive measurement device, a lifting ramp equipped with such a device and a position control method. An Independent claim is made for a method for determining the position (x) of a moving body that has a number of path markers on it.
