<p>PURPOSE: Provided are a novel polyester which has a low dielectric constant. a low dielectric loss tangent and a low absorptivity, a resin composition containing the polyester, a film prepared from the polyester or the composition, and a laminate using the film. CONSTITUTION: The polyester is obtained from a bifunctional phenylene ether oligomer having a number average molecular weight of 500-3,000 represented by the formula 1, and is represented by the formula 5, wherein -(O-X-O)- is one or two kinds of structure defined by the formula 2 and/or 3; R1, R2, R3, R7 and R8 are identical or different one another and are a halogen atom, a C1-C6 alkyl group or a phenyl group; R4, R5 and R6 are identical or different one another and are H, a halogen atom, a C1-C6 alkyl group or a phenyl group; R9, R10, R15 and R16 are identical or different one another and are a halogen atom, a C1-C6 alkyl group or a phenyl group; R11, R12, R13 and R14 are identical or different one another and are H, a halogen atom, a C1-C6 alkyl group or a phenyl group; A is a C1-C20 linear, branched or cyclic hydrocarbon group; -(Y-O)- is an arrangement of a kind of structure defined by the formula 4 or an irregular arrangement of at least two kinds of structure defined by the formula 4; R17 and R18 are identical or different each other and are a halogen atom, a C1-C6 alkyl group or a phenyl group; R19 and R20 are identical or different each other and are H, a halogen atom, a C1-C6 alkyl group or a phenyl group; Z is an organic group having at least one carbon atom and can contain O, N, S and/or a halogen atom; B is a divalent organic group and comprises one or at least two kinds of structure; a and b are independently an integer of 0-30 and aren't 0; and c and d are independently 0 or 1.</p> |
