PURPOSE: A tray and a recording/reproducing device are provided to mount a cartridge which receives information recording media for video, music, computer, and data purposes, and to effectively prevent the cartridge from being incorrectly mounted on the tray. CONSTITUTION: Slider supporting units(3,7) apply forces to sliders(2,6), respectively. Selectors(4,8) select hooking positions of the sliders(2,6). Position determining units(5,9) determine positions where each of the sliders(2,6) is hooked over. The slider supporting units(3,7) apply the forces such that the sliders(2,6) can go toward a disk eject direction(Y2). When the sliders(2,6) slide from initial positions, the selectors(4,8) select one of the first hooking positions(12,16) and the second hooking positions(13,17).
