A system for removing swarf from cutting fluid has the swarf and fluid mixture fed into the top of a duct inside which a reciprocating piston presses the mixture into a perforated duct. The fluid is forced out of the perforations and is recycled while the swarf is compressed out of a restricted outlet jet to form slugs which are easily collected for disposal. The reciprocating piston is driven by a simple crank and the whole system is mounted on a base and is stood in the collecting tray under a cutting machine. The reclaimed cutting fluid can be further cleaned by a centrifugal filter. |
