PURPOSE: A device and a method for processing contents, a program, and a storing medium are provided to shorten a time until an application for contents data is started and gets to be an operative state. CONSTITUTION: An hdcc(hard disk contents controller)(32) is placed under an application(31). The hdcc interprets commands issued from the application, controls a lower cdam(contents data access module)(33), and manages/processes target data(FL2a) stored in an hdcc-cache area(20A) in a RAM. The cdam manages access for reading/writing the contents data to an HDD(Hard Disk Drive)(21). A database module(34) for processing a database file(FL1) is placed under the cdam. The cdam executes a reading/writing process for header information(FL3) stored in a header-cache area(20B) in the RAM.
