PURPOSE: A power saving method of a mobile terminal is provided to reduce power consumption of a mobile terminal by controlling an animation interval and a sound output according to power saving level. CONSTITUTION: A header of multimedia data is open to access a variable indicating an animation interval(S21). If there is no key input, the animation interval is adjusted(S22). Power saving level is determined, and a delay timer is set variably according to the power saving levels and the timer is driven(S24,S25). The animation interval is increased as much as a weight value allocated differently by levels(S26). Brightness of a backlight is determined and the animation interval is adjusted as much as a weight value allocated differently according to each brightness level(S27,S28). The multimedia data is decoded according to the adjusted animation interval and then displayed on a display window(S29).
