PURPOSE: An exercise machine for strengthening a waist muscle is provided to allow users having waist pains to do exercise safely and conveniently without spending much time. CONSTITUTION: The exercise machine cause vertical motion of a weight element(42) of a weight exerciser(40) by flexing and extending the waist while seating on a seat cushion(23) on a main body(10) and holding a grip bar(15). The machine comprises: a rear frame(12) rotatably mounted at the main body(10), with a hinge shaft(19) interposed therebetween, and having a head cushion(21) and a shoulder cushion(22); a front frame(14) height adjustably mounted at the front of the main body(10) and having knee cushions(24,25) in contact with the upper and lower sides of knees; a lower frame(16) disposed at the front of the main body(10) and having a footboard(26); a waist cushion(27) mounted in the upper side of the seat cushion(23) on the main body(10); and a power transmission mechanism for mediating mutual motion by connecting the rear frame(12) and a weight element(42) by a wire(46).
