An apparatus for clamping the trailing edge (100) of a supply of recording media on the external drum (6) of an imaging system (10). The trailing edge clamping apparatus (100) includes a plurality of magnetic clamp sections (102). Each magnetic clamp section (102) includes: a body (104) having a top portion (106) and a pair of legs (108); a plurality of apertures (112); a set of permanent magnets (120); and a cover for encapsulating and protecting the set of permanent magnets (120). <IMAGE>
