摘要 PURPOSE: A transflective liquid crystal display, and an electronic equipment having the same are provided to secure the desirable thickness of liquid crystal in a reflective display form as well as in a transmissive display form by adjusting thickness of an insulation film and depth of a depressed part, thereby improving the display quality. CONSTITUTION: Liquid crystal(5) is filled between substrates(2,3) opposite to each other. A common electrode is formed at a liquid crystal layer of one substrate. A plurality of TFT(Thin Film Transistor)s(10) are formed at a liquid crystal layer of the other substrate, and the TFTs are covered with an insulation film(20) so that a plurality of reflective pixel electrodes(11) electrically connected with the TFTs are formed on the insulation film. A transmissive hole(23) is formed at a part of the pixel electrode. A dug part(22) is formed on the insulation film positioned at a lower part of the transmissive hole. A transparent electrode(19) placed at a lower part of the dug part and electrically connected with the TFT is directly placed on the substrate. The liquid crystal is introduced into a depressed part(27) so that thickness of the liquid crystal at a dug part forming area is different from thickness of the liquid crystal at the pixel electrode forming area.
