PURPOSE: An exhaust gas flow control method of a hot rolling heating furnace is provided to secure uniform temperature distribution in a widthwise direction and an oxygen concentration by controlling a flow of exhaust gas of a burner. CONSTITUTION: For controlling an exhaust gas flow, an inner insulating structure(9) is installed in the center of the bottom between an inlet or a heating furnace and a burner, in the lower zone of the slab in the heating furnace. The planar shape of the inner structure is integrate rectangular, wedge, or separate rectangular shapes. Exhaust gas flowing along the center of the heating furnace is divided into a flow toward the lateral from the center and a flow toward the center from the lateral by the inner structure. The exhaust gas flows riding over the inner structure are mixed with each other. Therefore, distribution of temperature and oxygen concentration in a widthwise direction becomes uniform.
