PURPOSE: Provided is a composition for inhibiting liver cancer containing the extract of needles of Abies nephrolepis. The composition inhibits the progress and metastasis of liver cancer by recovering gap junctional intercellular communication and inhibiting matrix metalloproteinase(MMP) activity. CONSTITUTION: The pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting liver cancer is characterized by containing, as an active ingredient, the extract of needles of Abies nephrolepis and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers . The composition is used for the manufacture of drugs, processed food products, functional foods, drinks and alcoholic beverages.
