<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand a constriction part in the vicinity of a bent portion in a blood vessel, and to easily adapt a shape of a balloon to a shape of the bent portion in the blood vessel. <P>SOLUTION: The balloon 5 is formed into the shape having the bent portion, a portion serving as an outside of the bent portion (range shown by oblique lines) is formed into a thin-walled thickness compared with those of other portions, and an elongation quantity is thereby greater than those of the other portions when internal pressure of the balloon 5 is increased. A difference between the elongation quantities in the portion serving as the outside of the bent portion of the balloon 5 and the other portions of the balloon 5 gets greater with the increase of the internal pressure of the balloon 5. Resultingly, the bent portion is bent greatly with accompaniment to the increase of the internal pressure of the balloon 5, and a bent degree of the balloon 5 is controlled optionally by controlling the internal pressure of the balloon 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO.
