PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the leakage current in a solid electrolytic capacitor using a conductive polymer in a solid electrolyte. SOLUTION: Valve metal powder is molded and sintered, an oxygen-supported complex of a metalloporphyrin or metal phthalocyanine is adhered to the surface of a capacitor element 1 having a dielectric oxide film formed thereon, and a solid electrolyte of the conductive polymer is formed on the oxygen-supported complex. When the leakage current flows through the solid electrolytic capacitor, oxygens are supplied from the metalloporphyrin or metal phthalocyanines and a defective part in an anodic oxide film is repaired, thus realizing reduction of the leakage current.
