PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single hand operation device allowing both hands free for working, while gripping by a single hand. SOLUTION: The single hand operation device for an operator to operate a machine with a single hand in an operation area of the machine, comprises an operation part body 2d to be gripped by a single hand for operating the machine, and a retaining part 2e connected to the operation part body 2d, for retaining the holding status of the operation part body 2d as if held by the single hand, even if releasing the hand.
