PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head support device and a disk device equipped with the head support device in which resonance characteristics are stabilized by increasing a resonance frequency of a load beam due to twisting vibration occurring upon a magnetic head being moved at a high speed to a target track, and an offtrack is prevented from occurring even by higher order twisting resonances. SOLUTION: In the head support device, the load beam 22 and a carriage 4 are brought into contact with each other via two pivots 25, the load beam 22 and a slider 3 are brought into contact with each other via a dimple 28, and a side reinforcing part is formed on the left and right side surfaces of the load beam 22 such that a shearing center (the center of the figure when the cross section is symmetrical with respect to the upper and lower and to the right and left) of the cross section of the load beam 22 perpendicular to the longitudinal center line of the load beam 22 and passing through the apex of the dimple 28 is coincident with the apex 27 of the dimple 28.
