PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid-crystal compound that improves behavior toward temporary voltage impression of static electricity of a liquid-crystal element, etc., and a liquid-crystal composition that has a moderately high specific resistance value and behavior toward temporary voltage impression of static electricity of a liquid-crystal element, namely sufficiently quick relaxation to temporary voltage impression of static electricity, etc. SOLUTION: The poly(oxyalkylene)-substituted compound is represented by general formula (I). The nematic liquid-crystal composition is obtained by using the same. The liquid-crystal display element which slightly generates static electricity during a production process and hardly causes an increase in power consumption and defective display such as burning.
