The invention relates to a rapid-action clamping system for clamping workpiece pallets (23), on which workpieces that are to be machined are fixed. Said system consists of a rapid-action clamping cylinder (1), which is situated on the base side, fixed to a machine table, clamping plate or machining tower and comprises a housing (9) provided with a central receiving bore (27). A feed nipple (24) engages in the bore, said nipple being located on the underside of the workpiece pallet that is to be clamped (23) and co-operating with a locking system (3, 12, 21) that is situated in the housing (9) of the rapid-action cylinder (1). To rapidly exchange said rapid-action clamping system with another system for different machining situations, the rapid-action clamping cylinder, situated on the base side (1) can be connected to at least one adapter part (30) comprising an additional rapid-action clamping cylinder (31). |
