A pressurizing device, wherein a reciprocatingly movable reciprocating body (12) is stored in a cylinder body (6) and a pressurizing rod (20) is reciprocatingly movably installed in the reciprocating body (12), the pressurizing end part (20a) of the pressurizing rod (20) is projected from the cylinder body (6) to the outside, a forward movement pressure chamber (27) and a self-weight canceling pressure chamber (29) are demarcated in the cylinder body (6) by the reciprocating body (12) and diaphragms (17) to (19). After the pressurizing end part (20a) is positioned vertically downward, compressed fluid is filled in the self-weight canceling pressure chamber (29) to cancel the self-weights of the reciprocating body (12) and the pressurizing rod (20). Then, the compressed fluid is supplied to the forward movement pressure chamber (27) to pressurize a pressurized article (W) through the pressurizing rod (20).
