<p>In the production of (meth)acrolein ((M)AN) and/or (meth)acrylic acid ((M)AA) by heterogeneous gas-phase oxidation at elevated temperature, by passing a gaseous mixture (I) of organic precursor(s) (OP's), oxygen and inert gas(es) over a fresh fixed bed of catalyst in a reactor. In the production of (meth)acrolein ((M)AN) and/or (meth)acrylic acid ((M)AA) by heterogeneous gas-phase oxidation at elevated temperature, by passing a gaseous mixture (I) of organic precursor(s) (OP's), oxygen and inert gas(es) over a fresh fixed bed of catalyst in a reactor, the process is carried out (after setting the composition of (I)) at constant OP conversion and a constant (I) composition for an induction period of 3-10 days at a reduced (I) charge, a higher charge of (I) being subsequently being supplied.</p> |
