ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF, FOR PREVENTING OPERATING NOISE

PURPOSE: An anti-lock brake system and a control method thereof are provided to remove uncomfortableness of drivers caused by operation noise of a motor by varying operation time of the motor for checking an operation state according to acceleration of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: An anti-lock brake system is composed of a motor(M) for pumping brake fluid stored in a low-pressure accumulator; a wheel speed detecting device(100) for sensing the speed of each wheel; and a control unit(110) for comparing a present vehicle speed computed by the wheel speed and a set vehicle speed for operating the motor based on the acceleration of the vehicle computed by each wheel speed and controlling the motor. The control unit sets the vehicle speed as a first pre-set speed if the acceleration of the vehicle is larger than a pre-set acceleration and sets the vehicle speed as a second speed set slower than the first speed if the acceleration of the vehicle is smaller than the pre-set acceleration.
