<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perfusion catheter to be used in the area of a body where a conventional catheter is not fit to use, i.e., soft tissue such as brain, a peripheral blood vessel system, or liver. <P>SOLUTION: The catheter includes: (a) an outer tube assembly which is arranged inside an outer polymer coat and includes a superelastic alloy ribbon weaving member; (b) an inner tube assembly which includes lumen extending from the near end to far end of the inner tube assembly, is arranged inside the outer tube assembly at an interval apart from the outer tube assembly, and forms a ring shape space between the outer and inner tube assemblies; and (c) a membrane assembly which has a dilatable membrane to be positioned far from the outer tube assembly and connected to the far end of the inner tube assembly, and forms a dilatable cavity communicating fluidically with the ring shape space between the outer and inner tube assemblies. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
