PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pickup device in which when a protection member is hit to a disk, damage for the disk and slide-vibration sound are reduced, and peeling of the protection member can be prevented. SOLUTION: As an upper plane 30d of the protection member 30 is a slant plane above which an end plane 30b of a lower stream side of a rotation direction of a disk D is positioned, the end part 30b is hit to a surface D1 of the disk D earlier than the end part 30a of an upper stream side of the protection member 30. Therefore, the damage given to the surface D1 of the disk D rotating at high speed can be less. Also, noise caused by deformation vibration when the end part 30b is hit to the surface D1 and slid can be reduced, further, even if the end part 30b and the surface D1 are slid, such force is hard to operate that the protection member 30 is turned up by this sliding force, it can be prevented that the protection member 30 is peeled off easily from a fixed region.
