PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric discharge machining method for a film having an excellent adhesive property with an aluminum member, and excellent film hardness of a surface. SOLUTION: The machining method for an electric discharge machining film applied to the aluminum member immerses the aluminum member in working liquid including dimethyl silicone oil, and applies electric discharge machining to the aluminum member by using a consumptive electrode including Ti-Al binary system material in the working liquid. In the electric discharge machining film, a film formed on a surface of the aluminum member includes TiC and Ti-Al metal intermetallic compound.
