<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a removal system which can effectively adsorb and remove a harmful chemical substance from a space, e.g. a room in a building, with a porous material, e.g. active carbon, in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: The removal system has a porous material 1 for adsorbing and removing a harmful chemical substance, e.g. formaldehyde, and a humidifying means 2 for humidifying a space 4 containing the harmful chemical substance.
