<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which print operation can be continued appropriately when power is turned on after it is turned off by a user caused by ink end or sheet end without supplementing ink or sheets. <P>SOLUTION: A microcomputer 4 reads out file information (information of the date of making a "DCIM" holder and the holder size) from a memory card and stores it in a volatile memory 6, and stores the file information and the number of residual print sheets in a nonvolatile memory 7 upon occurrence of ink end, or the like. When power is turned off without supplementing ink or sheets, information in the memory 7 is held before power is turned off. When power is turned on after it is turned off temporarily, a decision is made whether a memory card is identical to that used before power is turned off or not based on the information in the memory 7 and the file information obtained from the memory card. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
