ILLUMINATOR, ILLUMINATION HEAD AND POWER SUPPLY FOR USE THEREIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminator capable of supplying a rated current to individual light emitting elements in an illumination head being connected with a power supply using a power supply of identical standard regardless of the specification of the illumination head, and to provide the illumination head and the power supply for use therein.

SOLUTION: The illuminator (1) being used by connecting illumination heads (H1-H3) with a power supply (B) comprises resistors (R1-R3) for detecting currents flowing through the power supply circuits (C1-C3) of the illumination heads (H1-H3). Each resistance is selected to produce a voltage drop equal to a preset reference potential (V0) when a rated current is fed to each light emitting element (2, ...). The power supply (B) is provided with a current controller 12 for controlling a supply current such that the voltage drop across the current detection resistor (R1-R3) has a potential (Vs) equal to the reference potential (V0).
