<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalytic fiber having more excellent denitrifying performance and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: This catalytic fiber is an oxide containing titanium, vanadium and germanium as metallic elements and shows the peak corresponding to titanium oxide in an X-ray diffraction spectrum but does not show the peaks corresponding to vanadium oxide and germanium oxide. This catalytic fiber is manufactured by spinning a catalytic precursor fiber from a spinning solution containing a titanium compound-hydrolyzed polymer, an organic solvent and vanadium and germanium as metallic elements and firing the obtained catalytic precursor fiber. When gas is denitrified, the gas containing nitrogen oxides is brought into contact with this catalytic fiber. When the halogenated organic matter contained in gas, the gas containing the halogenated organic matter is brought into contact with this catalytic fiber. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
