PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk type recording medium with duplication inhibiting function which can inhibit duplication using an error added previously and intentionally. SOLUTION: When data is recorded in a disk, a correctable error is added previously and intentionally with a fixed period. When the error added previously with the fixed period is detected, duplication of data from the disk cannot be performed by restricting duplication by inhibiting output to a duplication recording device from this disk. A period of the error is made a different period from a rotation period of the disk to enable distinguishing the error from an error due to scratch or the like. Also, a part on the disk in which output is restricted can be selected in accordance with a region to which the error is added. Also, a plurality of added error patterns of the disk are provided, an output restriction mode can be selected in accordance with a detected pattern.
