PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the pressure applied on the inner wall of a space is raised due to a temperature rise and a liquid is likely to leak at a connected part under a high temperature in a conventional liquid seal type optical device because the expansion and the contraction of the volume of a refractive index alignment liquid are caused by the variation in the ambient temperature between -40°C and +85°C which is usually required for a liquid seal type optical device and such expansion and contraction are applied as a static pressure. SOLUTION: A bubble retainer is provided on at least one of inner faces in the liquid seal type optical device having opposite inner faces. The expansion and the contraction of the volume of the refractive index alignment liquid are absorbed by the bubble retainer, thus, the liquid seal type optical device from which the liquid hardly leaks is provided.
