PRODUCTION METHOD FOR PREVENTING OCCURRENCE OF CRACK IN BEARING RACE WITH DEEP GROOVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent the occurrence of crack in CRF-working of a bearing race composed of an outer race or an inner race which is obtained by forging a tower of an outer race blank and an inner race blank and separating the tower.

SOLUTION: The tower 7 where the outer race blank 8 and the inner race blank 10 are vertically unified, is forged and separated vertically to obtain the outer race blank 8 and the inner race blank 10. The outer race blank 8 and the inner race blank 10 thus obtained, is subjected to non-oxidize annealing to form a ferrite-decarburized layer having 0.01-0.03 mm thickness on the surface of the outer race blank 8 or the inner race blank 7. For example, the outer race blank 8 is formed with the race 21 in the inner diameter side by the CRF-working and is formed into a rough bearing race 20 and successively is subjected to machining to obtain a product bearing race 25.
