PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device for a vehicle allowing easy and efficient position adjusting work of a steering wheel. SOLUTION: A steering column 12 is formed inside a car body fixing bracket 11, the car body fixing bracket 11 is provided with a front through hole 22 for telescopic property and a back through hole 23 for telescopic property, a periphery of the front through hole 22 is provided with an uneven engaging section 24, and a housing 26 of the steering column 12 is provided with a through bolt hole 28 and a shaft hole 29. A through bolt 30 is inserted into the through bolt hole 28, a slider 34 having an uneven surface 38 engageable with the uneven engaging section 24 is mounted to the through bolt 30, a shaft 44 is inserted into the shaft hole 29 and the back through hole 23, and a shaft 44 is provided with a tilt adjusting member 15 for regulating vertical movement of the steering column 12.
